ART CARDS- Create a bunch of unique art trading cards that express your identity. Use drawing, collage, color... Anything goes. Start on a long skinny strip of scrap posterboard. Then slice up to create at least 15. On the back of each card write your name, class period, and 1 preferred method of contact (cell phone, e-mail, facebook, etc.) DUE FRIDAY 8/27
Geometric figure/animal
After learning to shade basic shapes, apply your new skills to a 12"x18" paper. First, look through magazines to find an animal or figure you like. Don't worry if it looks too hard to draw. Cut it out of the magazine & paste it in your book. Then sketch the figure on the 12"X18" paper substituting geometric shapes for each body part. Use at least 5 different kinds of shapes (circle, cube, cylinder, cone, etc.) Choose a light source, and shade each shape. Use white chalk for highlights.
